My Progress

I have now started with my trainer. I have been with her for about two weeks now, the first week I did great with the weight but with getting sick I am back at square one. Sad but true. At least this time I didn't just totally fall off the wagon and wait forever to get back on it. Nope, I've been consistently striving toward my goals.

I go to my trainer 3x's per week with my cousin. We go for an hour and we are required to workout on our own 2x's per week (45 min cardio). I love moving again, I felt like I hadn't worked out in ages and it really gives you so much energy when you do it. I feel stronger and feel proud of myself. Love that feeling!

I weigh in on Mondays at the trainers so I will once again change my weigh in day to coincide with her. I like waiting until that day to see what my progress is instead of weighing at home so that's why I am changing again.

Between the holidays, getting sick, and just not eating how I should I have fallen way behind and.... GAINED 2 LBS!! Whyyyyyyy *in my Cee-Loo voice*










All Caught Up!

Ok that's it. That's all the meals I've had as of this afternoon. I have about a weeks worth of food left in the freezer to eat and photograph and after that the rotation starts over so I won't be posting pics unless I try something different. I'll also be updating old post regularly with pictures if I feel that more detail would be helpful. Just FYI. I have stopped my DTG meals for a few weeks while I get caught up. Being sick and going out of town for the holiday really threw me off but I'm back on track now and never will I give up. That was the old me... So my next shipment won't come until after the holidays. But I'll be staying on my diet and fitness plan regardless, and posting my progress.

B - Strawberry Banana Muffin, Vanilla Cream Cheese, Apple

The 1600 cal comes with strawberry jam also. This muffin was even better then the others. I loved having that vanilla cream cheese to dip it in. It was so delicious and I love the combination of strawberries and banana so this was a big winner for me. 
I had an extra yogurt so I had it with this meal. 


B - Cranapple Muffin, CranOrange Cream Cheese, Orange

Another yummy muffin, can't say enough great things about them. I look forward to having them each week. The orange is missing from this picture because I ate it out of turn. As I felt I was getting sick I was eating any and everything that had vitamin C in it! But it was a nice regular orange in case you were wondering. 

Let's talk a second about this CranOrange cream cheese... loved it! It was such a nice treat and change and it tasted so good. There was more then enough for the muffin so I am looking forward to having this again. 


B - Whole Wheat Monte Cristo, Raspberry Maple Syrup, Citrus Yogurt Salad

This was a good meal although it wasn't what I expected. It was a piece of bread (I think the same as the french toast which I am not thrilled with), a piece of meat and cheese. Remember this IS a diet, lol. The syrup saved this meal. Loved dipping it in there. I also love having the yogurt smoothies. The citrus salad was surprisingly good, I can't wait to try that again and since I doubled up on this meal I will be having it again tomorrow, yay!


L - Waldorf Chicken Salad, Snack Mix, V8

A very good meal, just as tasty as I imagined. The snack was a nice add and I added it on top of the salad for the crunch I love so much. Didn't drink the V8 and I was full from this meal. The salad had apples and dried cherries in it, yum!

L - Wahoo Fish Burger on a Multi-Grain Roll with Tartar Sauce, V8 Juice, Apple

This meal was really good, I think I officially love the wahoo fish burger, lol. Especially with the tartar sauce. I am a big condiment person and they give you more then enough. There is also tartar sauce on the other side of the bun in the picture just to give you an idea. I don't like V8, I tried it twice but just can't stomach it so I never drink those with the meal. I also didn't try the bean salad which was a surprise because it wasn't listed on the menu. The sandwich is really big and it also came with an apple so I was stuffed. 



B - Egg & Broccoli Pie, Apple Juice

1600 cal also comes with apple sauce. This was not too bad. I had read some other blogs warning to stay away from the egg dishes but I also read about a few people that liked them. So I decided to go ahead and try one. This was just ok, I won't order it again. It was just a weird meal, eggs in a pie. And the consistency of the eggs didn't sit well with me. I LOVE fresh scrambled eggs, I even eat them plain. So I am really picky with that. And the muffins and pancakes are just so good that I would rather have that then this meal. It was totally worth trying though.
I have an orange juice instead because I drank the apple juice as a snack on a different day. 

D - Shrimp Fettucini, Broccoli Florets, Honey Wheat Roll

This meal was pretty good. It tasted like a diet version though. There was just something off about the sauce if you like a good fattening fettucini. I would probably pass on ordering this again. I substituted something else so that I could try this. The shrimp was good and so was the roll. And of course it was more then filling.

L - Chicken Salad on a Kaiser Roll, Tomato & Mushroom Salad, Citrus Fruit Cup

This meal was ok, the bread was pretty soggy from the salad. On the heating instructions it says to toast or heat the bread and then add the chicken salad. But the chicken salad was already on the bread so maybe those instructions are for the customers that pick up their meals. I would like it much better if the chicken salad was separate to begin with so because of that I won't order this meal again. I don't like tomato's or mushroom's so I didn't even think about eating the salad. The fruit salad was ok, again the grapefruit overpowered the other fruit flavors and caused them to taste bitter. Not a bad meal and very filling but just not for me.

B - Apple Pancakes, Maple Syrup, Turkey Sausage


Oh wow, this was just awesome. I barely needed any syrup. These are even better then the blueberry pancakes. And they have little apple pieces in them. It was like an apple pie in a pancake. Dessert for breakfast once again. I love waking up to these meals. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day so it's so nice to have a diet plan that actually lets me continue to look forward to this meal.


The apples perfectly moistened the pancakes and I will most definitely double (or triple) up on this meal next time.

D - Macaroni & Cheese, Carrot Coins, Broccoli Florets

This was a tasty meal. The macaroni was nice and cheesy and the portion was very filling. The veggies were good too, those that I actually ate that is :)

B - Corn Bread Muffin, Orange Marmalade, Cream Cheese, Orange Juice


The 1600 calorie version also includes yogurt so this was a very filling breakfast. I love the corn bread muffin so much. It's like dessert when it includes the cream cheese! Very good breakfast.


D - Vegetarian Spaghetti Pie, Spaghetti with Sauce & Mozzarella Cheese, Cauliflower Florets


This was a great meal. The spaghetti didn't taste at all like diet spaghetti and the cheese just made it that much better. I ate a bit of the cauliflower, I'm getting there.


L - Bistro Chicken Salad, Sesame Breadsticks

This was very yummy! I read about this on some other blogs so from their suggestions I decided to warm it up. Great idea! I warmed a little of it first just in case and it was delicious. I loved the crunch from the breadsticks also. Very filling and tasty.


B - Raisin Bran Muffin, Strawberry Preserves, Yogurt

The 1600 cal also comes with orange juice. This was a great meal. I love when I get to have the strawberry preserves with my muffin (I don't like orange marmalade). Another great muffin as always with DTG. And the yogurt was one of my favorites, strawberry! Lovely meal.





That catches up week 2 foods

So now I will start posting "week 3" and "week 4" foods.

L - Tuna Meltovers, Citrus Fruit Cup

I had this meal the last time I tried DTG so I knew I would love it. It didn't disappoint. The bread is very moist and the tuna and cheese is just delicious. I ate pieces of the fruit but the grapefruit really bled into the flavors of the other fruit and made it unappetizing. I still enjoyed the meal though and will continue to order it.

D - Herb Crusted Whitefish, Creamy Polenta, Broccoli Florets, Sesame Breadsticks

The 1600 cal also includes the yummy angel food cake! And this meal was yum, yum, yummy. I can't wait to have it again. I always look for delicious dinners because I am so picky they are really hard to come by for me. This one is a winner. The fish is so moist and flavorful and the polenta is delicious as well. I even ate the brocolli! I did flavor it with a little Mrs. Dash and it worked out wonderfully. The sesame breadsticks went really well with this meal. I didn't think I liked those breadsticks but I decided to give them a try and now I am a convert. The crunch is a nice addition to meals and the taste it pretty good too.


L - Grilled Turkey Ham & Cheese Sandwich, Mushroom & Artichoke Salad, Apricot Pudding



This was a really good sandwich but I didn't like the pudding at all. It looked really lumpy like grits or mashed potatoes and it didn't taste good either. I didn't eat the mushroom salad because I just knew I wouldn't like it. I actually may get this one again though surprisingly. I really like their sandwiches and I can get full from the sandwich alone. Oh it came with an additional half of sandwich but I was so hungry I ate it before I took the picture, lol. 


D - Vegetable Ravioli with a Ratatouille Mix & Red Pepper Sauce, Chocolate Mousse


This meal was good but what was really good was the mousse! I was not expecting it to taste good at all because I don't like the chocolate puddings. But this mousse was so light, fluffy and flavorful. I would order this meal again just for that but I won't have to because the ravioli was delicious as well. Once again the meal was very filling and I loved it. 


I'm Back... Finally!

So everything is finally back in order, I am over the worst part of my cold and I am back to feeling normal. So I will start posting the meals I've had over the last few weeks and my updated progress. I still took pictures of everything so nothing will be left out.

Update - I've Been Sick :-(

Wow, I came down with a crazy cold over the weekend and I don't even know how I caught it. I was out of town for the holidays and I felt like I was fighting off a cold for a few days. Next thing I knew I woke up in the middle of the night and the cold was full blown. Well I don't want you to miss out on any meals so I have decided that instead of backtracking and listing my meals for the last week and a half I will just review the meals I've had since my last meal posting and update you on my progress. And then I will start from that point moving forward and go back to my daily postings. This is the easiest way for me to do it considering two things, #1 it's hard for me to remember in what order and what days I ate what food, and #2 I ate outside of the plan a lot so there would be a bunch of gaps anyway. This way makes the most sense for the purpose of this blog, which is to let people researching the diet know about the foods and to let people know about my journey.

Week 3 Meals Have Arrived

I received the meals today. Everything was in order and nicely frozen. The only downfall was I didn't recieve two of my meals. The Breakfast Pizza and the Chicken Pesto Salad. I was really looking forward to trying the pizza because I read a great review for it. I was disappointed that it didn't come and instead I was sent waffles, would've rather had pancakes or a muffin. But the silver lining for the lunch substitution is that they sent me the grilled cheese with the brownie!! So I was happy.

D - Cioppino Seafood Medley, Petite Grain Roll, Cream Cheese & Chives, Chocolate Puddingc

I had this again for dinner. It was delicious!

L - Mirkin Burger, Kaiser Roll, American Cheese, Salsa Cup, Melon Mix

MIRKIN BURGER
The Mirkin Burger is made with bread, carrots, sunflower seeds, beans, and a few other things. It's so good I could sub it for a burger anytime. 
I knew I would love this because I had it once before. For it to be a vegetarian burger it is delicious. I didn't use the salsa on it I just love it plain, well plain with the cheese, yummy! The melon mix was good. And the bean salad was fine. I will definitely get this meal each time.

I always love getting so many different items with each meal. I really feel satisfied when I'm done.



B - Waffles with Syrup (Substitution)

This meal was fine. Not that feeling but I did like the fruit mixed in with the syrup. My waffle fell apart in the toaster so I couldn't get it as crispy as I like. Overall I would probably stick to the pancakes or muffins.
