The First Shipment Has Arrived

I checked the FedEx shipping site at least 10 times today to see if my food had arrived. Around 1p.m. it was here, and of course no one was at the leasing office to let me know. But FedEx left it right outside the door to the leasing office so I was able to pick it up.

This is the same way the package came the last time I was on DTG. As you can see there are no bumps, bruises or problems. The cooler and cardboard box are very sturdy. The cardboard box contains items that don't need to be frozen. The items inside are in a labeled container to advise what meals the items are intended for. 

And then it was on to the frozen meals:

Inside the cooler the items were stacked with those plastic air things to keep everything in place. The dry ice packet was at the bottom of the cooler (and pretty much empty). As you can see the meal on top was a bit thawed out by the time I received it. I don't think it would've survived arriving tomorrow. But everything was still really cold and the other items were in great condition. 

I printed the menu's off of the DTG website and I used my Week 5 menu (edited by me to include my substitutions) to make sure everything was there. It was! I like to have it written out because then I know I'm eating the right "extras" with each meal. And once you start making substitutions its kind of hard to figure it all out unless you have all the information together. I received everything plus a little piece of angel food cake that I'm not sure goes with which meal yet. But I will be very happy to add it to one of my dinners! 

The red dot that's on the meals signifies that they are 1600 calorie meals. As I stated before I am doing 1600 this week and then dropping down to 1200 calories next week. The 1600 calorie plan included an additional yogurt for my cranberry oat scone breakfast and a pudding for the turkey salisbury steak. I haven't really figured out the other differences yet. 

I noticed one difference between the last time and this time however, the apple comes wrapped in aluminum foil. I guess this is to keep it from getting bruised or going bad during shipping. I really appreciate DTG taking this into consideration.

Grilled Cheese/Lentil Chili/Brownie

I received the brownie!!!!!

Yes I absolutely love this meal and I am so happy it came with the brownie although it was a substitution and did not say it would include it. Thanks DTG for actually getting me excited about stating a "diet".
