A Few Thoughts Before I Begin...

I have been on the Diet To Go website and Diet To Go blogs getting prepared for the beginning of my new journey and I've come across a few post that disturb me. One thing is people saying it's too much bread or they want wheat bread or wheat pasta, etc. Please people really! You're only eating 1200-1600 calories and for those of us that like to diet without punishing ourselves, please don't ruin it for us, thanks. I love the thick french toast like bread. Or regular pancakes instead of whole wheat ones. And regular bread instead of whole wheat bread. And actually having bread! I like, no love bread. And I finally get to have it without having to worry about eating too many calories. Lets be thankful for a fun flavorful diet. If you want a bland, whole wheat, organic, soy, no salt diet then just eat raw fruit and vegetables and save us all from your whining. Because quite honestly, if the diet was that strict, you would not be able to follow it. If you were able to follow a diet that strict you wouldn't even need DTG.

Another thing is people saying it seems like its too much food. We have been conditioned to think that we have to starve to lose weight. It's not how much you eat, it's what you eat. If you are use to dieting then you are probably brainwashed to think you can't eat nice sized portions, you have to leave the table feeling a little hungry, you can't be totally satisfied after a meal. Well those things are just not true. You can actually eat quite a bit of food, it just can't be certain foods. It can't be fast food, smothered in gravy food, fried food, empty calorie food, etc. DTG has all the calorie listings on their website so its as clear as night and day that it is in fact ok to eat the amount of food that we are provided. See, that's what I like about DTG, you can actually be satisfied, and enjoy your meals without feeling deprived. That's where a lot of diets fail, because of the expectation to go through the rest of our lives feeling deprived and attempting to train our brain to think thats ok. And then reality sets in, and you're back to your old habits because what you are trying to do just isn't realistic or attainable.

Those two things were just bothering me and just in case DTG finds this blog I want them to know not to listen to the complaints, or if they do, take my opinion into consideration as well.

I just don't think we should sabotage ourselves by thinking we can't have... I know that's not true, discipline is important, but there's a fine line between discipline and punishment. And you shouldn't go through life punishing yourself.
