Wow, this one comes with a lot of stuff. Too bad I don't like veggie chips, V8, Tomato Relish or Red pepper hummus, LOL! So why did I order it you ask, because a turkey swiss sandwich sounds yummy and I had already subbed out two of my lunches for the week with grilled cheese sandwiches. So why not?
It wasn't bad. The main thing I didn't care for was the tomato relish on the sandwich. I'm used to getting everything separately and combining them. So I thought the relish would be on the side but it was already on the sandwich. The bread was delicious and so was the cheese. I didn't like the turkey so much. But combined with the bread and cheese it was good. I picked off the relish bit by bit which hindered my enjoyment of the meal. I tried the chips dipped in the hummus and it was ok. Now for me to say "ok" is a lot, that means I actually ate it. If I don't like something I don't eat it, period. I really like the combination of the crunchy chips and hummus and the soft sandwich. I ate about a third of the hummus. I thought I wouldn't like it at all but it was fine.
I didn't drink the V8 because I was STUFFED from the sandwich and chips. I love that I can be satisfied on this diet. I could've saved half the sandwich and V8 for later maybe. I don't like V8 though so I probably won't end up drinking this at all. Unless I get really hungry before dinner. And after that long review I have decided I won't get this next time. I want to try the Reuben Sandwich instead. Since I am on the 5 day plan I don't get all the meals but I can easily swap them out. And DTG has so many great meals that I'd rather have something I really love versus something that's just ok, if I have the option. I just have to be careful to make sure I'm not swapping out all of the veggie/fruit dishes for cheesy/sweet dishes. I think this dish would be great for someone who liked these flavors to begin with. But with my picky taste buds it didn't really stand a chance.
