For some reason this sounds really good to me. Maybe because I loved the turkey chili dish last time I did DTG. I was really looking forward to the biscuit and cheese too. I love bread, and cheese is my favorite food. Couldn't wait to bite into this. And it didn't disappoint.
| THE 1600 CALORIE VERSION INCLUDES MORE CHILI |
This meal was delicious. Although I was looking forward to this meal because of the sides I was a little skeptical because the "chili" looked in pictures more like a soup with a ton of veggies and I do not like veggies.
But once again, the chefs at DTG knew what they were doing. The cheese really set the dish off. I added it in the chili and it really disguised the veggies. The chili was tomato based and had red kidney beans, carrots, zucchini and some other veggies in it. And I'm not a fan of sour cream but adding that bit of coolness to the warmth was a real treat. And the biscuit, oh wow, it was cornbread, yum!
Preparation:
I warmed the chili up for two minutes by itself. I warmed the biscuit for 15 seconds. I didn't warm the sour cream or cheese. I added them both in little by little as I was eating so that I could get some in each bite.
Very Filling:
It was so good and so filling. I have decided to eat dinner earlier on my new journey. I will eat at least 3 hours before I go to bed which I should've been doing anyway. I was worried that I would get hungry later, especially during the time I would have to cook my husbands dinner. He eats about two hours later so it was a big deal. But I wasn't even tempted when I cooked dinner. I was still so satisfied from my own dinner that I didn't even want one bite of his food. That was a really big deal for me because in the past that has been such a struggle, me wanting his food and him feeling like he can't eat in front of me or trying to rush to finish. Nope, not this time. I was so satisfied from the meal that I didn't even eat my half a brownie right away. I had it about an hour later. And since I go to bed late it was still 3 hours before I went to sleep. What a wonderful first day.
